The Onyx online basic security training course offers students the opportunity to study at their own pace in the comfort of their own home. The online course covers the same material, assignments, and tests that an in class course addresses. Why commute to a training centre and try to fit the training course into your schedule when you can study from home?
Accessing the Onyx online classroom is simple. Once the student has registered, completed the necessary forms, and payment is received, the student will be sent their individual login information. Students will then be able to login from the Onyx web site.
Once the student has completed all aspects of the online training component, students will be required to attend an Emergency Level First Aid course (8 hours in class) if the student does not already have a valid Emergency Level First Aid Certificate. An Emergency level First Aid Certificate is a Ministry requirement. First Aid dates are flexible and Onyx staff work with students to select the most appropriate date and time based on the students availability. Students will have to provide proof of attending, passing, and produce a first aid certificate to complete the course.
Upon completion of the course, Onyx will provide the student with a certificate of completion and submit the students name to the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services to register the student for the provincial test.
